And Thanks to Michelle at the Quilting Gallery for all the time and effort to put this together.

I'll Post the winners tomorrow and try to contact.

Okay I am a little excited here - But it is my first Blog Hop that I am actually part of.

So to tell you a little about me, I am a wife to my very best friend. We have 3 grown children 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. I still work full time  + some, but try to take on quilty projects like I have no other responsibilities in the world.  So yes to the next question - I do have lots of UFO's, which of course I vow to finish soon.  Ha ha  So along with finishing the UFO's this year the other thing I have been interested in working on is being able to Free Motion Quilt at least well enough to do some of my smaller projects.
I really enjoy all of the swaps and have participated in most of them that have been put on by the Quilting Gallery. Also I have found a group who does a monthly swap of doll quilts, Called Doll Quilts Monthly.  This will be my first month of swapping with them but so far is has been wonderful, to see what others are creating.  Along with swapping I tend to get excited about BOM's, and of course have several in various stages of completion. I also belong to a group called "Keep me in Stitches" and we do a "BABRR" it is like a round robin but you only do a block.
So take a minute if you have it and look through some of my pictures, I'm sure I don't have them all posted but there are some. As you will notice I like to applique. I tend to favor needle turn but I do like to do other methods, as you will see in my give away(s).  Was that plural?

And now without further delay......  A Giveaway!   I know it's the best part.... I think so too.

I'm offering a couple items for the giveaway and all I want you to do is to leave a comment and let me know what your favorite color is & which item you want. More on that below so keep reading. I will pick in order of number picked so I can't guarantee you will get the one you want, unless you are the 3rd winner. I will be picking 2 winners to start and if I get more than 100 comments I will pick a third winner.

Give away #1 is four 1/4 yard cuts (not fat qtrs) of Civil War Reproduction fabric:

Give away #2 is this set of Mug Rugs:

   Close up!

Now for the third give away (if I get over 100 comments) will be a needle case or set of mug rugs, so just let me know what your favorite color(s) are and which of those two items you want and I will surprise you. So add that in because if the list gets big that doesn't mean the #4 won't get that last pick.

Okay all set leave your comment here then don't forget to go back to the Quilting Gallery and hop to some of the other blogs in the:  Beat the Winter Blues Blog Hop

Make sure to leave an email address so I can get ahold of you and Yes I will ship Internationally!

Thanks to the Quilting Gallery for hosting this Blog Hop and Thank you for stopping by.

Baby Nevaeh and Mom R

Well after 3 Boys who wouldn't be extremely excited to have a girl?  Our neice and her Husband were! The name Nevaeh is Heaven spelled backwards and how fitting.  So of course there had to be a baby quilt and of course it had to be "Beary Special"

Here is the Quilt that I made for Nevaeh and a close up of the bear.  We delivered while we were on vacation last September.

And every year we go to see my awesome Mother in Law and my husbands family. They are in parts of Arizona, California, New Mexicoand Utah and we all meet up at Mom's place. And after all these years of making quilts for others people I felt it was time to give Mom one.  This the quilt I gave Mom.

She of course loved it.

Thanks, for stopping by.

February's UFO - Finished

Well the title pretty well gives it away - But this is a huge accomplishment, on a not so huge quilt. I started this quilt about 3 or more years ago. I hadn't done a lot of needle turn applique and I had never done reverse applique. But hey why start out small.  So I got this pattern with a special purpose in mind. I would paint my down stairs bathroom and hang this on the wall as decoration. Little did I know that with other projects (way too many to confess) it would take me almost two years to complete this wall hanging.  But that's not whole story. After spending another year at a quilters (I don't need to go into details) I finally got it back still needing some - okay a lot of work.  A dear sweet friend who also quilts, picked all the previous quilting out, then re-quilted for me. Oh and did I mention for free. Did I mention she is so sweet.  I am friends with, work with and quilt with her sister and then got to know her. We call her wonder woman because she just whips things up in no time flat.  So with out too much more delay - here is my 3+ year wall hanging.

I'm very happy with how it turned out, (Now) My friend did such a wonderful job quilting it, here's a close up of what she did in the borders - Hopefully you can see it.

And now that I have the binding on, and I even put the little hanging tabs in the back - Yahoo it's done.

I am trying to get some UFO's done, as many as possible but, my goal is a minimum of one per month.  I've gotten 4 done in the last 3 months so it's going good.

Thanks for reading and have a Blessed Day.

Mug Rug Swap

Hi
I'm doing another Swap with the Quilting Gallery.  This time it is a "Mug Rug Swap".

Mug Rug Swap

Some times we are given a theme and then left to design our own projects and sometimes they have a specific patten for us to follow. This time they had two mug rugs from "The Patchsmith" and we were to make one of each. Normally I create these things and send them on their way but I like mug rugs and these are so cute I actually made two of each and I'm keeping a set for myself.  I did one set by hand stitching with a button stitch around the edge and one set I did a straight stitch on the machine. That's the set I'm keeping.

So here they are - I just thought they were so cute.  My partner (Secret partner)  liked red and black and white... so there you have it.  I'm actually done a little ahead of schedule for a change. They will need to be in the mail no later than March 11 because the are going over seas, and I'm going to send them out this weekend.  Yahoo!

Well I have more projects coming up and a UFO for February another big Yahoo for it and a long story to go with it.  I will be posting about it soon. And of course a picture.

Hope you all have a wonderful Blessed day of sewing.

New Project & Blog

Hello All,

Well I have joined another group that is doing doll quilt swaps monthly. And if you have followed me at all you know I love swaps. I missed the deadline for this month but will be swapping my first doll quilt in March. The theme is animals and I think I have it planned - but leaving room for a change of mind just in case. Of course I want to be mindful of my swap partners likes and dislikes and I won't know who that is until the end of the month.  Anyway really excited to be part of the new group - oh and I am part of that blog too so it's like having another blog.

 Doll Quilters

So even though I may make a little post from time to time here - most of my swap blogging will be on that blog site.

Happy Sewing -
Lynn

Quilters’ Show and Tell

So guess what this weeks theme was... Yup you guessed it "New Beginnings"  You're so smart.

And guess what else... I have entered my "New Beginnings" Quilt in it.

So if you would like to go over there and vote for my Quilt above that would be wonderful, and if nothing else have a look around the Quilting Gallery site it has lots and lots of fun things to see and explore.

Winnie The Pooh

I have had this quilt done for quite a while and then even had it quilted about a year ago - but wasn't sure who I wanted it to go to.  Originally I was going to make it for my grandson, however he is not into Winnie the Pooh (a little old for it )  he's 6 and he's into motor cross and football and computer games.  So I prayed about it and God led me to a friend of ours that has small children and they love Winnie.  :)   So now it is all bound and done and I gave it away this last weekend.  Enjoy little Kayla.
Little did I know - it is Kayla's Birthday this week - so I guess my timing (or God's) of completing this worked out even better.

Getting these UFO's and WIP  out the Door!

Stacy's Quilt

Remember this quilt that I said the top's finally finished - Well That was 2 + Years ago.  I was hand quilting it and even though I really like hand quilting, something would happen I'd have to put it away and then it would take me a while to get it back out.  Well now as you can see below - It is done done. Quilted, Bound, and given to my oldest daughter.

I did end up maching quilting the borders.  I did a cable on the red and echo on the white.
Whew One of many UFO's out the door.

For "Variety"

This was made for a special lady in my life that I have watched grow up since she was a little girl and now she has a baby girl. They named their baby "Variety" and this is the Quilt that I made for her. I appliqued the elephant and bird using needle turn and then embelished with the embroidery detail. Mommy was very pleased.

The Twins - The Girls

As I work at catching up a years worth of Quilting and Sewing - I am trying to put them all in the order they occurred. If down the road of posts I mix them up - Oh Well.  (smile)

Since I have started quilting I have felt the need to make a baby quilt every time I hear of someone that I'm close to is having a baby.  But after many many failed attempts at having a baby my Nephew and his Wife were having twins.  And since this was my older Sister's first and only Grandchildren, I felt it was only right to let her make the quilts for her grand babies.  She is a wonderful embroiderer, and had started making little animal blocks one of the first times that they were expecting. She actually had about 12 of them made when they discovered they were expecting twins.  So she got back to work and added a few more.

Then when we were together in March we picked out a pattern that she wanted to do. I helped work out the math of it and then we went and got some fabric.  Then I spent most of one day cutting and sewing to get one quilt top mostly together to show her how to do it (I really hated that - ya right).  Then after leaving she sent me a picture of the other one she finished. Unfortunately she had to quilt them both and bind them but I think she did a wonderful job for her first real quilts and first Grand babies.

Didn't she do a great job. This is a pre-quilted photo.

Of course I made something too - and now have a great gift idea for those hurry up baby gifts that don't necessarily need a quilt.  I made bibs, burp cloths and travel changing pads. Notice the plural, they are twins after all. The changing pads were made with a new material that is water proof and some are using for home made diapers.  (I did not do that).
Here is what I made.

The changing pads have a pocket to put a diaper or two and a package of wipes.

Well have a blessed day -
Lynn

PS  The girls arrived about 4 weeks early - we were camping with my Sister and Brother-in-law when the call came in. Needless to say we packed up camp and they headed out to see their new Grand babies. They are now 4 months old doing wonderful.  And we are all so Blessed with our new family members - The Girls - Ava and Brynn.

Counting Days
